SIMON SALON

The space reflects the year 2020, drawing inspiration from the Art Deco 1920s through its use of luxurious materials, gilded details, modernity, geometric shapes, and patterns. It also envisions a new era - one that reflects our evolving consciousness and emphasizes the importance of nature more than ever before.

The whiteness of the space acts as a foundation for creating new patterns, while symbolizes the future and provides an opportunity for new ways of thinking. The saturation of patterns and colours typical of Art Deco creates a space merely with the placement of elements and by mirroring, which is noticeable only on-site.

Due to the infinity of geometry, the terrazo floor can also be perceived as a part of larger floor or as a part of a geometric pattern that continues in an endless mirror of the counter with the metal shelf. It is a matter of interpretation. The metal shelf and the counter symbolizee the birth of a new era. During the “big bang”, a metal piece exploded and revealed an “endless” counter in the middle. Left and right are the remains of metal parts.

The space reflects 1920s extravagance, futurism and the the growing connection between humans and nature during the growing trend of ecological disasters. Though 2020 cannot be compared directly to the 1920s, we now gaze increasingly into the virtual world, becoming more aware of our relationship with nature and are increasingly aware of the importance of connection with nature, symbolized with plants and round mirrors surrounded by intertwining green plants, reminding us of untamed hair curls. The opening of the intermediate walls transforms the space into a unified flow. However, the reception desk still serves to logically divide the space into an employee corridor and an area for visitors. A prominent metal wall called NeoVibe as an art installation offers visitors privacy from the street while they have their hair washed. Through large glazing, the salon communicates with the exterior and is an extension of the public space.
