FOR ADAM
The renovation of an almost 100-year-old villa in Ljubljana successfully creates a diverse space that feels interconnected. It is a "world in miniature," a blend of different cultures, emotions, and experiences expressed through architectural language. Upon entering the apartment, a space opens where different materials, colors, and patterns blend harmoniously. The transition from marble tiles to parquet subtly links various areas, enhancing the feeling of connection and improving spatial flow. A key move in the renovation was to allow light to pass from one end to the other and, by removing partitions, to open up the space, increasing its visual volume and natural lighting. The central element of the apartment is the kitchen island, positioned around the chimney. The chimney becomes an integral part of the kitchen, with upper cabinets featuring mirrored fronts that reflect light. The detail of the lower cabinets, made of four different veneers, creates a composition that organically integrates into the space, enriched by the tropical-patterned tiles around the chimney. The dining area, highlighted by a green marble table, a velvet bench and chairs, gives the room an elegant touch. The transition from the central area to the other rooms of the apartment, expressed through architectural details, is in fact a daily journey, allowing interpretation and imagination to run free. The individual spaces reflect different cultures in an abstract way, reflecting the client's desires and lifestyle. The renovated space offers an aesthetically rich environment where spatial unity intertwines with various visual and sensory influences.
